We would stay here again without hesitation, the venue met the criteria. The cozy feel of the hotel. The place is short walk from Dublin downtown. Enjoyed that the downstairs bar was working.

It deserves its 3 stars. We think it's a chilled-out base for staying in Dublin. Visited their restaurant Trumans couple of times...

Hotel is close to grafton street and trinity college so good location to start exploring Dublin. Hotel itself was ok. Service was fine. Lobby area nice to relax for a bit. Breakfast was good although you can also go outside and grab some breakfast and maybe save some money. We got a room at the back so no traffic noise. Temperature in the room was a bit to high unfortunately. Bathroom was refurbished. All in all not best hotel I have stayed in, but not the worst either.
Room too warm. Decoration outdated.

It is a very attractive building and definitely has a lot of old world charm. Our checking in was done by a very friendly female staff member and Paddy, the concierge was a gentleman, minding bags for us while we continued to shop.
Subsequent staff members there were not as friendly a face on the front desk. The breakfast was extremely disappointing. The member of staff who served us was not to a standard I would have expected. She sighed audibly when I asked for the cooked breakfast without some of the items. . . but proceeded to bring these on the plate anyway. The food was poorly presented I felt and neither of us finished it. Also when other guests arrived in the dining room she gave them directions regarding what was the protocol in the room. When they seemed unsure, she asked them loudly 'did they understand?' It was all a bit Fawlty Towers. The noise in the bedroom from the fans from the kitchen, I think, were unbearable. While they were tuned off in the evening they began again very early in the morning.

It was such good value for such a lovely hotel! The staff were amazing. Patrick the duty manager was brilliant and really helpful when we couldnt figure the window out! Miles in the bar and restaurant was just the nicest barman - answered all our questions, recommended which dish to pick (he was right the burger was amazing), just all round friendly guy. The room was spotless and comfy.
I can't fault it for anything except having to pay for the parking!

Great location, beautiful hotel, excellent value for money

The hotel was very nice and clean.
The old sash windows did not provide any sound proof. It was very noisy all night, you could hear all the traffic passing by.
-
it was a great location fir shopping and a night out. rooms were adequate beds very comfortable. however reception and bar staff not very friendly.

Location
I had to ask for an upgrade as the noise and vibration from the kitchen fan was unbelievable. However, the staff were very friendly and upgraded my room immediately.
-
The staff at breakfast were extremely good at their jobs. Excellent service with minimum chat which was great.
Sound of Air conditioner units outside. Room had had smokers in it.
-
Loved the ambiance and location. It is close to everything, but quiet and elegant. Loved the coffee maker, tea, coffee, hot chocolate they provided with shortbread biscuits. Nice touch.
The shower system in our room was difficult to use and a bit of a problem. A room safe would've been a good plus.
-
Location for the centre of Dublin was fantastic, directly opposite the Parliament and 2 mins from Trinity University and main shopping street.
Rooms were not well sound proofed, so you could hear corridor and reception noise.

The staff, location and the traditional beautifull design

Quiet room, friendly staff and nice breakfast

I liked its position. It is excellent for shopping areas, city trip and attractions (Temple Bar area). However it is situated far enough from these spots so you can get a good rest and feel safe. Our room had windows against the street but the noise was almost imperceptible so , definitely, there was no problem to get a good rest. I liked best the personnel who was very kind, supportive and extremely friendly. They gave us information and directions for how to get to different areas in town and the conversation with them was a charm. They made us feel relaxed and comfortable - a real sense of hollday. The room was very clean and all the facilities were working (tv, Wi-Fi, hot/cold water etc.). The decoration of the room, the lobby, the restaurant and the hotel - generally speaking - were very beautiful. The food was excellent and the service of very high quality. This hotel is a very good value for money.
The only observation is that the room was a little bit small but this is not a real problem. You wouldn't expect having 24 sqm rooms for a hotel in the center of the city and for that money. Maybe a fridge in the room could be useful during summer season.
